Fishin' in the Light

We are extremely blessed to have the friends we do. A Sunday after church lunch turned into an afternoon  Mini Fishing Trip. The weather was just warm enough for shorts and company was hilarious, it almost tricked me into thinking it was summer. Luckily the rain was back today to remind me that was not the case.

Our friend's got a cat. I am thrilled to know another cat owner and Penguin is precious.

Their son is the center of attention for all of us because he is just so darn cute.

Again I really like this cat.

LOOK AT HIS HANDS! So cute :)

Perfectly Imperfect

Warning this post probably has too many pictures of Tyler but I just can't pick between them all. I love having being in a same-city relationship and I have been taking advantage of the chance to finally have daily memories with him.

As usual I am my own worst critic when it comes to my photos but I am learning to accept the flaws and appreciate the moment.

Example A: Tyler and I have been spending a lot of time with his niece and nephew. Typically we are running around too much to take pictures but this one I couldn't miss. Sadly, I hate the lighting in this picture. Outside was gloomy and inside was dim too. Thanks to my new 85 mm these low lighting situations can sill be saved.

Even though the light makes me cringe I can't delete it because it reminds so much of this snapshot of Millie from just under a year ago and the difference in her height and hair is adorable.

For his birthday I got Tyler an RC plane. Since it wasn't one of our usual activities I took my camera.
This one was was massively overexposed but thanks to my trusty Elements I was able to save it. Now I am quite crazy about it. I took another with the correct exposure and it just didn't have the same effect.

And just because I like his thinking face :)

And just because I feel bad for always forcing Tyler to be in front of the camera here is an embarrassing shot he got of me. Side note the only reason I put in black and white is I don't want you to see my color choices.

DNOW

This past weekend was DNOW. We had a fabulous host home and family and more food than any normal people should eat in a week.

My co-leader was my friend Caitlin. I think we made a great team.

The highlight of the weekend was going downtown and my girls organized a clothes closet. Of course instead of just hanging things they played Taylor Swift and pretended to try on the clothes. But they got it done and did I couldn't be prouder of the joy they did it with.

Pick Me Up

If you are extremely depressed over the Downton Abbey Finale, then I recommend this video for cheering up.

It's a Lifestyle

So far I hadn't gone out and really done some shooting with my new lens so I was thrilled when Tyler suggested we spend Saturday with out cameras. I mentioned the plan to my boss and she volunteered her nephews as models. This little guy was sick but the shots we got he completely rocked.

I have also been sick so Panera and their delicious soups have become my best friend.

Sidenote on life: I love water from Panera, it's just the best.

Finally, we did a spur of the moment shoot with some friends of mine. Their couple's shoot is gorgeous so I can't wait to start on those but in the mean time... I took this picture of Tyler just testing my exposure and now I'm in love with it. He's wearing my purse and he looks downright miserable but this is definitely going down as one of my favs :)
