Prince and A Princess

I got to Skype with Chelsea and her mom the other day so in the honor of Leslie I am finally putting up the "Purple Rain" preformed by Darius Rucker.

But since this this was such a short video I looked up a better quality and longer version.

I have been going back through the pictures from the wedding I second shot earlier in the summer.

I especially like this one because it's the bride immediately followed by her sister and her soon-to-be sister-in-law.
I have never been very into vignette in photos but this one I felt really needed one. I used this tutorial which I am not crazy about but I plan on continuing to look for another one.

Bambooseled

I am the proud of owner of this new toy thanks to the already extreme generosity of Tyler's family.

I am already so happy with it. It is fun and simple to work with. I had been reading reviews on Bamboo products and had been hearing good things when it came to drawing and graphic designs. I was listening to this song while practicing writing with the pen. And I challenge you to listen to this song and not feel like you can conquer the world

While I am rarely complimented on my handwriting (though it has happened shockingly) there is a big difference when using the pen. It's smooth and works just like a mouse or your finger would and there is no lag time to speak of.

Now on to the practical stuff that I will be using this for the most. The quick selection tool is one of favorite tools in Photoshop Elements and it saves me a lot of time. The only downside is sometimes it is not that acurate. While it's not that big of a deal on one picture when you have several pictures to edit the time spent fixing the selection space can really add up. How quickly and precisely the pen can do is seriously mind-blowing in comparison.
This is an example from our second trip to the ranch this weekend. Our friend Abby caught this fish and I wanted to select just her and fish. The little marching ants are much more accurate on the second.

Overall, I am very happy with this Bamboo product as both as an editing tool and a fun way to draw on my computer. I can't wait to figure out more tricks and become more comfortable with it. And so in keeping with the Buble theme...

Questionable

Here are some of my favorite questions I have been asked here:

  • Do y'all say "y'all"?
  • Do you consider yourself southern?
  • Do you eat grits? What is it made of?
  • Do you go to Florida a lot?
  • Do you play golf?
  • Have you been to the Master's?
  • Have you ever played at the Master's?
  • Is Tyler's brother as goofy as he is?
  • Do you think it is hot here?
  • How hot does it get in Georgia?
  • Why is it so hilly in Georgia?
  • Do you live in the mountains?
  • Do you live in a city?
  • Do y'all have *insert restaurant that we don't have name*
  • Do you go to the University of Georgia?
  • Do you eat peaches?

- Out-of-State Peach who didn't realize the difference two states made

My Name is Sue!

... How do you do?!

Holy cow I love Johnny Cash! And it just so happens I am in one of my (which happens quite frequently) Cash Kicks. I also have a huge problem right now. I do not want to go back to school at all but I do miss the crazy people back home who complete my life.

Several years ago my mom was singing "You are My Sunshine," and I told her to stop (I was a pretty rude kid). When she asked why I said because it talks about taking away the sunshine and that makes me sad.
As I got older I was nicknamed the "Sunshine Child," but not because of the previous story. Well, I still don't like the song but hearing by Johnny Cash makes it bearable and it reminds me of my mom to this day.

I know there are more romantic Cash songs than this but I know my long-legged man gets tired of my big mouth on occasion but we always work it out I am so grateful that we had this trip to get to know each other better and just have fun.
Also I am glad he likes Johnny Cash.

Geico Gecko's Son

In many ways I think my family is very normal. As far back as I remember we could never agree on what percent of fat should be in our milk and for whatever reason we once had quite the battle on the home front because we couldn't decide whether or not yellow and green made blue (it doesn't my grandma and I were right).
To make us unusual I guess would be our pets. Or more like my sister's pets. I am not really an animal person but growing up in such close quarters with them I have gotten used to it. I guess I thought Texas would be a break from critters but I was wrong. So I have had two run-ins with geckos this week. I don't hate reptiles because of my sister I grew up with a lot of them in the house. But I certainly don't love them.
Both of the ones I saw are babies to give you a scale this clear box is normally what I put Q-tips in (don't worry it won't get used for that again) so this guy is pretty tiny.

If you remember the concert from this post my favorite performance of the night was Darius Rucker. Again I realize the unnormality (not a word; Don't care) of my family when people my parents age have no idea about music or singers that would get you exiled from my house for forgetting. I can remember singing this one when I little and that makes me very nervous because I don't remember where or who I sang it in front of.

Also in the music realm. When I was little my dad used to sing a song to me to me and when I was older and tried to figure out what it was no one could seem to remember it. For awhile my mom tried to convince me it was this song, which is also a great one.

I wasn't convinced and it continued to bother me for, I am not kidding, years. At some point this year I took my mom's CD collection because I figured she didn't need it anymore and listened to a burned CD titled "Anita" on the way to Athens. On it was the song that had been stuck in my head since I was a kid.

While I realize this adds little to anyone else's life, knowing this song now gives me a lot of happiness that I can listen to it and remember times I shared with my dad.

*Disclaimer my family doesn't support the habits talked about in these songs, we just like good music.

If you can stand one more video this one makes Tyler's Texas Heart swell with pride. It is a very creative commercial but I refuse to admit that.
