More Newness

We had a slam packed weekend. Tyler took an elusive picture of me and my camera is messed up beyond repair. There will be more on all of this soon.

PhotoDump {Summer Edition} Vol. 1

While PhotoDumps make me feel awful and lazy I am trying to catch up and this seems to be best way. I can't believe May is almost come and gone :( I need to add to my bucket list that I will catch up with my personal and portrait yearbooks again as well as blog on time. I think that these activities during the school year are what I would rather do than school work so it is easy to keep up but during the summer more fun things pop up and they are pushed to the wayside. So... those blog updates I talked about will happen and hopefully come with punctual posts.

First of all, Hannah Graduated! UGA's ceremony was fun and different. I don't know if it's normal to have fireworks when people end their college careers but I though it was fun. I am so proud of Hannah for being the hardest working genius I know and I am sure her grad school graduation will come just as quickly as this one did. I also don't know why these pictures are so pixaly because they don't look like that on my phone.

And another graduate. My good and fellow photog friend Katie graduated and asked me to take some pictures of her and her friends. It was probably the most fun shoot I have ever done. They were completely willing to do goofy, fun things and had many of their own ideas too. Te weather was pretty nasty that day but we knew it was only going to get worse as the weekend went on but they were troopers and provided some the most entertaining shots ever.

The time in the library was the winner for me. I am obsessed with how fun these are.

We even found someone to take a picture with me in it at the end.
So far this summer I really haven't been super productive but Tyler and I did go to canal to take pictures. I only realized later that I shot it all in jpeg :(

And finally! My friends and I went to Lady A Park last night for some Donuts and Chicken Nuggets. While school is not the most fun thing these people make it fantastic. There is a good chance I wouldn't show up for most of life without them being there.

We are so adorable :)

Kayla modeling the awesome Team Chatt shirts
This is Sarah's prep for her cartwheel. I feel the shirt is very appropriate.
The only person who looks graceful and effortless the whole night.
I vote we need to start having "caption this" contests for photos of Kayla
Speaks for itself.

They made an effort to talk to all dog owners. This little guy was terrified of everything but he was so cute.

I just feel the need to prove we thought to take a group picture while it was still lit but Chelsea wasn't there so we needed redo.

Summer Bucket List {Volume Two}

Having a Summer Bucket proved to be one of my favorite things about last summer and it made me feel accomplished tho I didn't do actually anything, Sumer 2013, here are my goals.
  • Go to the beach often (I think I have two trips on the itinerary so far)
  • Go fishing often

  • Go camping/hammocking often (absolutely cannot wait for this)
  • Don't say "no" to day trips
  • Go to Artsy Me
  • Work on the Arrangement of my room specifically the walls (I've acquired some great pieces that need to be hung)
  • Take pictures every week
  • Blog Once a week ( I have three drafts that currently need to  be posted yet here I am writing a bucket list instead *shame*)
  • Try restaurants I have never been to
  • Spend as much time as possible with Chatt Community
  • Get involved with some local mission work with Chatt
  • Spend time with my girls
  • Go see Hannah
  • Maybe see Stephen
  • Find photo contests and enter them
  • Work for Serse a lot
  • Work on some art
  • Wear baseball caps (I own several but never wear them I need to put some use to them)
  • Go to sporting events, whether its the Braves or Little League
  • Watch Harry Potter and Downton Abbey
  • Get back on the Lifestyle Wagon ( I miss the less posed pictures :(  )
  • Finish Updates to blog
  • Go to the Big Mo
  • Back up pictures to my hard drive and CDs (I am always doing this, it's a never ending battle worse than laundry)
  • Grill out with friends instead just going to restaurants all the time
  • Find my black and white photography book, and go through it again
  • Wear something besides athletic shorts once a week (If that happens to be Sunday so be it)
  • Find opportunities to wear my Keens
  • Go to the Morris Museum of Art
  • Go to any other museum I can find
  • Basically, Find Something Fun to do and Do It.
Feel Free to let me know what I have missed and suggest activities. This summer has already been too great due to the fact that I am still recovering from last weekend and I hope it continues this way.

DownTown

A couple months ago (the week I got my 85mm to be precise) the weather was doing a typical Georgia spring teaser and I was dying to take some pictures. My friends Scott and Caroline happily agreed to meet me downtown in less than two hours. They were great sports despite the short notice and my needing a learning curve for my new lens. I held off on posting these to be sure they would be able to get full use of them on their save-the-dates and such but three months later I still couldn't be prouder of these photos. My favorite part of working with them was that Scott couldn't his eyes off Caroline and she could't stop smiling and laughing. It's obvious how completely in love they are and I am so proud that  my work got to be included in their steps to the special day.

Finally, I need to brag on this bag I bought from Darby Mack on Etsy. I have been hunting for a bag I could carry while shooting, that would actually protect my gear, and that wouldn't look like typical camera bag.
The camera/lens padded insert can come out and so you can wash the whole bag and it has plenty of pockets inside for SD cards and batteries. Personally, I think the the two extra lens it claims it can carry is pushing it. I will probably only carry one extra lens because it's plenty snug in there already.

Waiting Room

My dad is the hospital right now so we are spending most of our time there leaving me little room for photography till I finally just started taking pictures there.

They have tons of these at the children's hospital and you always see little kids going by on them. At this point it was about 9 at night the children's waiting area was pretty quiet.

And this is a boyfriend who really didn't want their picture taken.

On a lighter note, my sister showed me this video...
